Upon Durrës Prosecution Office’s request  and the Court's Decision, it was decided the seizure of the assets belonging to citizen S.Gj. under investigation for the criminal offense of "Laundering the proceeds of the criminal offence or criminal activity” as stipulated in Article 287 of the Criminal Code.

The aforementioned citizen has been engaged in illegal activities and has been declared guilty and sentenced with 7 years and 4 months of imprisonment, for the criminal offense of "Trafficking of narcotics” by  decision of the First Instance Court for Serious Crimes of Tirana, committed in complicity and more than once, based on Article 283/a-2 of the Criminal Code and article 406 of the Criminal Procedure Code. 

The judicial police has investigated and gathered evidence and facts that indicate the citizen S.Gj. and his family members possess properties not justified from an economic perspective, and there are reasonable suspicions supported by evidence and facts that these assets stem from the illegal and criminal activity of citizen S.Gj., for which the imposition of preventive seizure measure has been requested based on Article 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The real estate and movable assets investments made by citizen S.Gj. and his family members  exceed what can be reasonably justified by their incomes. The unjustified gap from legitimate sources totals approximately 30 million lek.

Verifications have confirmed that the Milan Court in Italy has sentenced the citizen S.Gj. with 24 years and 2 months of imprisonment for the criminal offence of “Participation in a criminal organization in the trafficking of narcotics". Additionally, the Interpol Office in Tirana has issued a search warrant so as to ensure the extradition of citizen S.Gj. to Italy.

For these reasons, in accordance with Article 274 and subsequent of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Court has decided to impose the preventive seizure measure on the following assets:

1.    A two-story house and a garage with a construction area of 150 m2, built without a permit and self-declared by citizen S.Gj. located in Shijak;
2.    A "Unit" premises with 1 (one) floor, built without a permit and self-declared by A.Gj. located in Shijak, with a construction area of 96 m2;
3.    "Land" with an area of 4,000 m2 in Lalëz-Njwsia Administrative Village of Durrës District;
4.    "Land" with an area of 2,000 m2, in the Administrative Unit of Ishëm in Durrës District; and
5.    "Land" with an area of 2002 m2 located in the Administrative Unit of Ishëm in Durrës District.
