General Prosecutor receives in meeting the OSCE Ambassador to Tirana, Mr. Wolfarth
 
 
Head of OSCE Presence in Albania, Ambassador Eugen Wollfarth, met today with the General Prosecutor, Adriatik Llalla. The conversation focused on the struggle against the organized crime and corruption as well as on the essential role of the General Prosecution in the strengthening of the rule of law.

The General prosecutor expressed to the OSCE Ambassador some of the priorities during his mandate, mainly highlighting the further boost of anti-corruption measures. Moreover, Mr. Llalla, thanking for the support OSBE has continuously offered to the Albanian prosecution, stressed that this close cooperation would continue in order to reinforce legal capacities of the prosecution body.

Ambassador Wolfarth, said during the meeting that “struggle against the organized crime, including the inter-border crime, as well as corruption, has top priority in insuring stability in the country, region and at a global level”.  “Issuing of well-judged and appropriate decisions, in the cases of high officials’ corruption, would be a positive measure to show a political determination and bring back the public’s trust to the judiciary”.

Wollfarth assured Llalla that the OSCE Presence, in the frame of its main goal to promote the rule of law, human rights as well as consolidate democratic institutions, will continue to support and assist the General Prosecution.
