The General Prosecutor Had an Official Visit to Kosovo and Meetings with the Acting Chief State Prosecutor and with the Head of the Special Prosecution Office
On November 3-4, General Prosecution Olsian Çela and the Head of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), Altin Dumani, had an official visit to Kosovo. During their visit, they met with the Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Besim Kelmendi, who was accompanied by the Chairman of the Prosecutorial Council, Ardian Hajdaraj, and the Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecution, Blerim Isufaj.
The delegations discussed the existing relationship between the prosecutorial offices, the work accomplished so far, and the challenges currently faced. Both parties committed to strengthening cooperation, coordination, and efficiency in the fight against cross-border crime. This includes the prompt execution of legal assistance requests and the continued work toward the establishment of joint investigative teams. The support of the Western Balkans Criminal Justice Project/EUROJUST to this cooperation was also recognized as crucial.
The Albanian delegation was also joined by the heads of Tirana and Fier Prosecution Offices, respectively, Mr. Arens Çela and Mr. Elion Mustafaj, as well as the head of the Organized Crime and Terrorism Section in the Special Prosecution Office, Mr. Adnan Xholi. On the Kosovo side, the meeting was attended by the Prosecutor in the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, Mr. Aleksandër Lumezi, the Deputy Chairwoman of the Prosecutorial Council, Ms. Jehona Grantolli, the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Pristina, Mr. Zejnullah Gashi, and other representatives.
