The Prosecutor’s Office of Vlora seizes 13 million Euros of assets in one year
The fight against money laundering and the crackdown on organized crime, trafficking and corruption through preventive measures against wealth continues to be the focus of the work of general jurisdiction Prosecutors’ Offices.
Only during the last year, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Vlorë, has seized assets worth 13 million euros.
According to the data, the total amount comes from preventive seizures imposed on 33 immovable properties in total in 2022. The seized assets are mainly immovable properties, apartments, land, olive groves, shops and bank accounts.
Regarding the criminal offense of "Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity", provided for by Article 287 of the Criminal Code, for the year 2022 it turns out that 32 criminal proceedings and 21 property investigations have been registered. While 7 criminal proceedings with 8 defendants have been sent for trial.
