Because of luring immigrants with promises to secure English documents in exchange of big sums of money, Tirana Prosecution Office apprehended the citizen M.N, who is facing charges for three criminal offenses

Tirana Prosecution Office based on the material provided by the judicial police of the Economic-Financial Crime Fighting Section at the DVP Tirana, has registered the Criminal Proceeding No. 617, of the year 2024. The charges encompass the criminal acts of " Falsification of Documents," "Fraud," and " Assistance for illegal crossing of borders," as stipulated in Articles 186, 143, and 298 of the Criminal Code.

Continuing with the investigative proceedings, on February 2, 2024, an additional information was acquired as the investigative show Stop, on TV Klan on 02.01.2024, broadcasted the material denouncing the fraud.

A citizen from Fier reached out to this program to report that his brother has been living in England for several years without documents. The individual is acquainted with citizen M.N. from the city of Berat, who has promised to secure English documents for his brother. There are suspicions that citizen M.N. has fraudulently obtained the amount of 30,000 pounds. Additionally, following the broadcast of these revelations on the "Stop" program, citizen E.A., residing in England, sent an SMS to report another case of fraud. It was revealed that this citizen had been deceived out of 10,000 pounds using a similar scheme.

Following this moment and  the communication with the journalists of the Investigative Program "Stop," video footage was administered, citizens were contacted to obtain relevant complaints, and the citizen M.N. was apprehended as a suspect for the criminal offenses of "Fraud" and "Aiding and Assistance for illegal crossing of borders," as stipulated by articles 143/3 and 298/3 of the Criminal Code.
