General Prosecutor, Olsian Çela participates in third Forum of the Balkan States’ General Prosecutors

The General Prosecutor of Albania, Olsian Çela, participated in third forum of the Balkan States’ General Prosecutors that took place on November 9 in Bucharest, Romania. 

The meeting focused on the controlling prerogatives and the essential role of the General Prosecutors in the uniform application of the law and the protection of the public interest. 

In his speech, the General Prosecutor expressed the need to find a balance between the independence of the prosecutors and the performance of the prosecution service as a whole, emphasizing the necessity of strengthening the role of the General Prosecutors as the only authority that can constantly ensure the efficiency and cohesion of the institution. 

The vice president of Eurojust Boštjan Škrlec also participated in the meeting.
