Increasing efficiency in the prevention and protection of currency from counterfeiting, the Prosecutor General, Çela, signed an agreement with the Governor of the Bank and the Minister of the Interior

The Prosecutor General, Olsian Çela, the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko and the Minister of the Interior, Bledar Çuçi, signed today a cooperation agreement "On increasing efficiency in preventing and protecting currency from counterfeiting, as well as on combating criminal activity in this field.

This agreement defines the ways of cooperation between the parties to increase the effectiveness, ability and inter-institutional cooperation against currency counterfeiting, as well as to combat criminal activity in this field.

In his speech, the Prosecutor General, Olsian Çela estimated that this agreement will further strengthen the cooperation between the parties in this field.
 
According to him, the General Prosecution Office is committed to increasing the effectiveness in the fight against currency counterfeiting, as well as to exchange information with the institutions involved not only about the perpetrators of these criminal offenses but also about the nature of the criminal offenses related to counterfeiting.
 
This agreement was compiled and finalized by the respective technical teams of the three institutions and it is a recommendation of the European Commission, within the tasks in Chapters 24 and 32 of the integration process, for the protection of money from counterfeiting.
