The General Prosecutor holds a meeting with the representatives of the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors (CCEP). Concrete discussions on improving cooperation between prosecution and media

The General Prosecutor of Albania, Mr. Adriatik Llalla, expressed his appreciation for the ongoing cooperation with the Albanian media, citing it as an important partner in execution of legal and institutional obligations.
These comments were made by Mr. Llalla during a meeting with representatives of the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors (CCEP), who are in Albania as part of a training meeting on the role of the cooperation and judicial system with the media in Albania.
Mr. Llalla answered to the CCEP officials regarding the practices followed by the Prosecution Office on public communication and implementation of transparency.

The General Prosecutor stated that the institution is based on some clear principles of cooperation with the media, which are realized through a clear policy of transparency, mutual respect with all mediums, as well as maintaining a reactive stance in the publication of data that have specific interest in public.
Also, Mr. Llalla presented to the international experts that Prosecution Office of Albania has standardized the public communication mode through the relevant normative acts and laws. "The General Prosecutor has issued a special order that regulates the disclosure of information. Also in the Code of Ethics of Prosecutors, adopted in 2014, are set out sanctions for each prosecutor who publishes investigative data, which can affect the process on an ongoing basis," said Mr. Llalla.

Responding to demand of the CCEP representatives regarding the further possibilities of cooperation, the General Prosecutor assessed as very necessary the commitment of the international structure on the realization of joint training between prosecutors and media representatives. This requirement, as well as assistance for further improvement of the law on the prosecution was supported by CCEJ's officials, who expressed their willingness on the continuation of cooperation with the Prosecution Office of Albanian.
