The investigation of the case “Doshi”, the Prosecution Office officially invites some senior officials to give their statements

The Prosecution Office for Serious Crimes, following the initiated investigations mainly for the crime of "murder of public officials", attempted, provided by Article 79/a and 22 of the Criminal Code, launched on the basis of public statements of the Member of the Albania Parliament, Mr. Tom Doshi, has taken on Thursday (05/03/2015) his statements, as well as materials which support his attitude expressed in the media.

Based on the statements of Mr. Doshi, who repeated before the investigative group that to him and to other Member of Parliament, Mr. Mhill Fufi, there was an assassination attempt, the Prosecution Office for Serious Crimes considers important to fully investigate this case and to take the evidence by some officials, for whom Mr. Doshi said that they are aware of this event.For this reason, the Prosecution Office for Serious Crimes officially invited to give their statements, the citizens, as follows:

1. Mr. Ilir Meta, Chairman of the Parliament
2. Mr. Edi Rama, Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania
3. Mr. Saimir Tahiri, Minister of the Interior
4. Mr. Mark Frroku, Member of Parliament of Albania
5. Mr. Mhill Fufi, Member of Parliament of Albania
6. Mr. Eugen Beci, former Leader of the Prosecutor for Serious Crimes, currently commanded as leader of the Prosecution Office of Elbasan District

Also, based on public statements made in the hall of Parliament, on Thursday (dt. 05.03.2015), which can be useful for the investigation, the Prosecution Office for Serious Crimes officially invited to give his testimony:
7. Mr. Sali Berisha, Member of Parliament of Albania
In the following, the Prosecution Office for Serious Crimes will invite to give their statements other persons who may have information about the circumstances of the event.

The Prosecution Office for Serious Crimes has mainly recorded the criminal proceedings in this case dated on 03/05/2015, immediately after the public statements of Mr. Doshi. Until that moment, in the Prosecution Office had no criminal charges, but only some indirect data, which did not constitute as a basis for the initiation of the investigation, under the Code of Criminal Procedure.

In addition to the statements taken to the officials above, the Prosecution Office for Serious Crimes is continuing to perform all the necessary procedural actions to fully explain the event.
