The recommendations of the Council of Ministers for the fight against crime for 2023 are presented to the General Prosecutor's Office


In a meeting with all the heads of the prosecutor's offices in the country, which took place in the premises of the General Prosecutor's Office, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Ulsi Manja, presented the recommendations of the Council of Ministers for the fight against crime for 2023.

The recommendations were focused on areas such as the fight against corruption and organized crime, the tightening of criminal policy regarding domestic violence, increasing the role of prosecutors in the initiation of investigations mainly, as well as other important issues.

The General Prosecutor, Mr. Olsian Çela, emphasized during the meeting the importance of coordination between law enforcement institutions in terms of defining objectives in the fight against criminality and the need for a greater contribution of leaders in following the recommendations.

The General Prosecutor also appreciated the constructive relationship with the Ministry of Justice as well as the very good level of coordination and cooperation between the prosecution offices of the general jurisdiction and the Special Prosecutor's Office, emphasizing that during 2022 there were 61 criminal proceedings related to organized crime and corruption that were initiated by these prosecution offices and for which the Special Prosecutor's Office extended the investigations.
