"Voting 2015", General Prosecutor signed the Cooperation Agreement with the Central Election Commission

Prosecutor General's Office is committed to monitor the electoral process for local government, by pre-emptively investigating any possible criminal offense that violates free elections, which constitute as the essence of democracy.

To be effective in this regard, General Prosecutor, Mr. Adriatik Llalla, promotes the engagement of Central Election Commission, but also the citizens and media to increase the identification and collaborative force for the referral of criminal offenses related to free elections.
Mr. Llalla expressed the position of the institution that he leads during the signing ceremony of the Agreement of Cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office and the Central Election Commission (CEC) held on Monday, dated on 05.18.2015.

For the General Prosecutor, "the elections are a very important process in the political and social life of the country and therefore every institution should fully perform its duty to ensure their progress."

Mr. Llalla, posing the commitment of the Prosecution Office to monitor electoral processes, said "is already established a working practice that, during election campaigns, especially on election day is designed a special graphic to monitor elections as regards the identification of incidents, investigation, identification and bringing to criminal responsibility of the authors that affect their normal course."

The Albanian Criminal Code has a special section which provides criminal offenses that affect free elections. For the General Prosecutor, "the complete and all-round investigation in real time has a special importance, since the conducting of these offenses hits the core of a country's democracy, free and fair elections".

Thanking the Central Election Commission for taking the initiative to sign the Agreement of Cooperation, the General Prosecutor concluded his speech at the ceremony with the conviction that "only through proactive cooperation all will prove along the determination to guarantee free elections and strengthen country’s democracy".
