Co-operation between the General Prosecutor’s Office and the Ibero-American Association of Public Prosecutors.
Tirana, on March 30th 2022. Promoting the international co-operation was the focus of the meeting held today between the Prosecutor General Mr. Olsian Çela and the delegation of the EU EU4FOCAL project, composed of representatives from the General Secretariat of the Ibero-American Association of Public Prosecutors, the General Secretariat of the European Justice Network (EJN) and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Kingdom of Spain.
The Secretary General of the Ibero-American Association of Public Prosecutors, Mrs. Rosa Morán introduced the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Albania to the activity of this organisation and invited the General Prosecutor’s Office to become part of this international network aiming to increase the information exchange as well as the enhancement in the field of jurisdictional relations with the countries included in this network.
This meeting was organised following the seminar held with the participation of the representatives from the General Prosecutor’s Office, General Jurisdiction Prosecutor’s Offices and the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organised Crime. The seminar discussed the importance of judicial networks for international co-operation in criminal matters, and European best practices referred by the experts from the EU4FOCAL project, which is supporting the Prosecutor General's Office by providing technical assistance on European standards.
