Three doctors from the Regional Hospital's Emergency Department have been suspended, upon Fier Prosecution’s request, due to the reckless medication of a patient who lost his life

Three doctors from the Emergency Department of the Regional Hospital of Fier have been suspended, upon Fier Prosecution’s Office, for the criminal offense of “Recless medication”.
The investigations of criminal case no. 181, 2022, for “Recless medication' under Article 96/2 of the Penal Code, identified that on 03.02.2022, the operating room notified that citizen A.Sh. had been brought to Patos Hospital with no signs of life.
The deceased had arrived at Patos Hospital during the early morning hours and was later transferred by ambulance to the Emergency Department of the Regional Hospital of Fier. He was then returned to Patos, where he sat in a café and passed away.

The doctors on duty in the medical office when citizen A.Sh. arrived during the early morning hours, accompanied by an ambulance from Patos with chest pain, denied any knowledge of the case or that the deceased had presented during their shift.
However, investigative actions and the forensic medical examination, determined that the medical personnel involved in treating the case demonstrated signs of medical negligence. The Prosecution has reasonable grounds to believe that the doctors failed to provide proper care, leading to the death of the individual.
The Court, upon Prosecution’s request, through decision no. 62-2024-6773 dated 21.12.2024, ordered the following precautionary measures:
1.    The imposition of 'Suspension from carrying out a public duty or service,' against citizen B.Dh., as a suspect in the criminal case of “Reckless medication”;
2.    The imposition of a precautionary measure, 'Suspension from carrying out a public or service,' against citizen I.Ç., as a suspect in the criminal case of “Reckless medication”; and
3.    The imposition of a precautionary measure, 'Obligation to report to the judicial police,' against citizen K.J., as a suspect in the criminal case of “Reckless medication”.
Fier Prosecution Office  is fully committed to investigate cases involving individuals who, due to their roles, neglect proper treatment, putting the lives and health of others at risk.
